Our staff is housed at the David & Geri Epstein Learning Center in Cromwell, CT. The office is open Monday – Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
In his seventh year as President and Executive Director, David is a native of Wellesley Hills, MA and graduate of Williams College. His past professional experience includes 24 years at Aetna Health Plans as Area Vice President and 12 years at Hartford Hospital as Vice President of Business Development and Community Relations. David spends his time volunteering throughout the community, in such positions as: Trustee of the New Britain Museum of American Art, Past Chair of the Hartford Marathon Foundation, Past Chair of the Connecticut Sports Management Group, and current chair of the Church Homes Inc. Parent Company of Avery Heights and Noble Horizons Retirement Communities. In his spare time, David enjoys playing golf at the Hartford Golf Club. He resides in West Hartford with his wife, Rennie.
Mark joined The First Tee of Connecticut as Program Director in March 2011. He is a native of Waterbury, CT and a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in History. He is a member of the PGA of America within the Connecticut Section where he serves on the Junior Golf Committee and previously served as the Education Director for the Assistants’ Association. Within The First Tee, Mark is a Recognized First Tee Coach and is working towards status as a Recognized Executive. Mark lives in Bristol with his wife, Kimberly and two daughters, Julia and Kallie.
Patrick O’Connor joined The First Tee of Connecticut in April of 2016 following his graduation with a degree in Sport Management from Endicott College in Beverly, Massachusetts. Patrick was the Summer Outreach Intern for The First Tee of Connecticut in 2014, so the transition to full-time Assistant Program Director was an easy one. Patrick resides in Manchester, and naturally, Patrick loves to play golf! He enjoys travel and boating on the Connecticut River with his girlfriend, Sara.
Christy Miller joined The First Tee of Connecticut as Manager of Development and Events in May 2015. Prior to joining The First Tee, Christy worked for 13 years at Gold, Orluk & Partners where she honed her skills in cause marketing, client engagement and event management, overseeing large scale events, conferences and camps that raised over $7 million dollars for various charities. Currently, Christy participated in the 2015 Leadership of Greater Hartford Quest program with the focus of producing a project that helps combat food insecurity in Hartford. Christy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations / Communications from Utica College of Syracuse University and her Master’s Degree in Sports Management from the University of Connecticut. Christy enjoys volunteering with the Girl Scouts, at her church and getting involved at her daughter’s school. In her spare time, Christy enjoys spending time with family and friends, running and traveling. She resides in West Hartford with her daughter, Shelby and their rescue dogs, Holly and Big Papi.
Marie joined the staff of The First Tee of Connecticut in October 2015 after a thirty-three year career teaching middle school science and math and coaching soccer and track and field at the Kingswood Oxford School in West Hartford. She is excited to continue her involvement with young people while branching out into new opportunities. Marie enjoys traveling with family and friends, golfing, gardening and watching sports, and is a literacy volunteer in Hartford.
Coach Meghan began serving as The First Tee of Connecticut’s Summer Camp Director during the 2016 season. She is currently a Physical Education Teacher at Barnum School in Bridgeport. Meghan lives in Southington and earned a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education from Endicott College.
Our chapter is one of many in The First Tee network. The First Tee is reaching young people in all 50 states and select international locations on golf courses, in elementary schools and through other youth-serving organizations.
