Volunteer Opportunities

The First Tee of Connecticut has a variety of program and non-program activities where people in the community can volunteer their time. The following is just a sample of these volunteer opportunities.

Group Lessons & Squad Programs – Both on weekdays (evenings) and weekends, volunteers are needed to assist instructors as they expose participants to The First Tee’s Life Skills curriculum. A basic knowledge of the game is important but our primary goal is to identify positive role models within the community to interact with participants.

Team Programs & Travel Team Events – Volunteers are needed to walk with groups during regular play and golf matches throughout the summer and to assist coaches with teaching opportunities including course management and appropriate on course behavior.

The programs listed above would require a minimum commitment of one day per week during the spring, summer and/or fall. In an effort to provide a stable learning environment for our participants we do require regular attendance for all coaches and volunteers. For more information about The First Tee’s programs please click here.

Administrative Help – Volunteers are needed in the office to help with mailings, filing, copying and other miscellaneous administrative work.

Charity Invitationals – Each season The First Tee of Connecticut runs 5 events. Volunteers are needed ahead of these events to work on auctions, etc. and on site the day of an event to assist with registration, on-course contests and awards presentations.
